Japanese Romaine

drinkMaybe it’s just me, but when I eat Japanese food, especially Bento, I usually end up with the sticky rice and the green salad (with that white watery yummy dressing) at the end. And I can’t help but sort of, well, eat them together because then each bite is not too crunchy, or too chewy, or too ranchy or too plain (am I sounding like Goldie Locks yet?)

I also had very little in the fridge the other week, but did have (a) rice, and (b) salad material. Hence, my recipe for the Japanese Romaine Salad (with a tomato twist).

1. Line the bottom of a salad bowl with warm rice.
2. Rip up bits of romaine lettuce
3. and cut a juicy tomato and an english cucumber into chunks.
4. Throw the veggies on top, mix it all up, and add ranch dressing.

Yum yum!

Hi! I'm Rachel, and this is my blog. I've tended to assume that if I ever blogged, it'd be a sappy diary. But based on what I've favored reading in other posts, I'm going to do this instead: pluck out isolated, varied things/ideas/experiences I find engrossing, try to choose the few right words out of a potential million, and hopefully cleanse my writing skills in the process. Because, you know, when I was little and was questioned about a future career, my answer was typically: "I'm going to be an author."

Oh, and I'm an aspiring film connoisseur. See my ratings at IMDB.
